A Credit Card that Plays Movies
Well, it’s not quite that thin and flexible, but my prediction is that we will have credit card sized movie and music players within the next 10 years. I have purchased a few items from StrongIdea.com in the past. The PMP (Personal Media Player) I purchased from there last year is my personal favorite. I have used it to film fellow Gadget Panelist, Vadim, attempting to play the drums for the first time (priceless), as well as more than 100 videos from a trip I took to New Zealand for two weeks. I have about 6GB of videos that I still need to upload from that trip.

It took me about three takes to make this video because people in the office kept stopping by to checkout the cool little device. What I love about it is that it really is about the same size as a credit card. In fact, it is actually a little bit smaller than a credit card (although much thicker). From movies to video games, this device certainly grabbed some attention at the office and captures a lot of attention when I carry it around with me when I’m out and about. Everyone wants to sneak a peek.
Something that really surprised me about this player is that I put it in the same pocket where I had my keys on accident. When I got home that night, I realized I had put it in the same pocket as my keys. I was sure to have ruined the screen with a scratch or ding. Something. Yet, there was nothing on the screen. Completely scratch free. The 2″ screen is protected by an an anti-scratch glass that makes this puppy extremely durable compared to many other models I’ve seen out there. That will ensure that the pre-loony Britney video that comes already on the device is not permanently tarnished if you put the device in the wrong pocket.
I will need to spend some more time with the device to get to understand it better. I’ve already discovered that the videos must be in MPG format and not AVI (contrary to what the website says). But I just discovered a number of settings on the device for the audio recording feature. Yes, you read that correctly! This puppy has a mic right next to the USB plug and the headphone jack. This means that this inconspicuous device can be used to record candid conversations. Of course, I’m sure that is highly illegal, but it seems like we are all being recorded in some way or another these days. Try to keep yourself out of trouble with this device! ![]()

Wow, do you own a piece of StrongIdea?
What a POS…I am suprised you did not run it over with a car to prove how it would hold up..
Why not tell all the readers about how many people received faulty merchandise and no refunds from this half baked operation..

Posting negative about product or company only gives them more exposure. I have received low quality products, and I choose not to write about them because it will only give that company and product more exposure. Why would I want to give something I don’t care for more exposure? This product is not the best product in the world, but it is one of the better items they’ve had on their website.
