Safe Driving & Easy Hands-Free Calling

Bluetooth Handsfree With Caller IDHere in Arizona, the state legislature just passed a law barring texting while driving. The move—which came after a few high profile accidents involving teen drivers texting—is a good one, but has also spurred a heated debate about use of any hands-on cell phone technology while driving a car.

For me, the possibility of a more stringent law barring cell phones without hands-free would’ve been critical up until recently—as my phone has Bluetooth® but no speaker-mode, and an aftermarket car stereo that could utilize the Bluetooth for hands-free calling is just too expensive. That’s why I picked up the Bluetooth Handsfree With Caller ID from Gadget Universe.

The car kit is small—a little larger than my cell phone—and attaches to my visor, keeping it away from my center console where I have the bad habit of spilling coffee. Its speaker and microphone setup is crisp and clear, and I don’t have to yell at the top of my lungs just to have a conversation on the road (and the mic limits the car noise on the other end, too).

The best part, however, is the built-in Caller ID functionality. Like most people, I screen my calls on the cell phone, and looking away from the road to read the small screen atop my cell phone is dangerous. With the big LCD screen on the Bluetooth Handsfree With Caller ID, seeing who is calling is a easy as glancing up near my rearview mirror…talk about safety and convenience!
