Chinese Energy Market Might Hurt Your Pocket
I received a disturbing email from a person I know who is a product manager for a mid-sized retailer in the United States. One of the factories that he works with is several weeks behind schedule in getting their products to him in the States. Why? The areas of China where these particular factories are happen to be going through blackouts that last for two days out of the week.
I’m assuming they aren’t talking about Saturday and Sunday, which means that productivity in the country that produces the most products in the world is going to be slowing down. They just don’t have the energy to keep up. Couple that with the recent changes in Chinese labor laws and we’ll all be paying quite a bit more for our gadgets unless the factories start putting solar panel on their buildings!
Imagine that! China being the leader in renewable energy use… Not likely to happen, but gadget lovers can dream

That would be interesting indeed, China going green. I don’t understand why self sustenance isn’t as a high priority for countries as I would think it should be. Dependence on someone for something as important as energy is just risky.
